Jim and Bea Thompson

Jim and Bea Thompson

To the Thompsons it meant saying goodbye to the source of forty years of fond memories, seven hundred thirty-two close personal (four-legged) friends, and one hundred fifty acres of beautiful, seemingly endless backyard. To Rick Franz it meant an opportunity to help Jim and Bea through a difficult transition by finding a buyer who shared their love of the land. And once the deal closed, it meant that Jim and Bea were free to explore even greater open spaces in their new RV.

Mercer Island

Mercer Island is located near the south end of Lake Washington between Seattle and Bellevue. It has been a popular residential community for many leading figures in business, banking, medicine and other industries since the 1950s and has a population of approximately 22,000.

Luther Burbank Park, named for the well-known American horticulturist, is the scene for summer music concerts and plays. Located at the northeast end of the island, the park has swimming, playground and dock facilities as well.

Mercer Island has it's own newspaper, The Mercer Island Reporter, published weekly.
